General Information about the Saddlebag Express
The Saddlebag Express is a family festival celebrating our cowboy and western chuck wagon heritage. General activities, demonstrations and outdoor entertainment are free all day Saturday. Fri and Sat evening shows in the Municipal Auditorium require admission fee (details below).
Saturday morning starts with a chuck wagon breakfast. Other family activities include Outdoor Entertainment throughout the day, Fast Draw, Roping, Bull Whip demo, Cowboy art, Western displays, Cowboy crafts, Demonstrations, Vendors, Car show, more ... Lots of food is available.
Friday evening features art dramatization of western story telling and painter Jim Dunham painting live on stage at the Municipal Auditorium. (Ticket purchase required and includes one chance to win the painting). Saturday evening features the Tumbleweed Cowboy Band in concert at the Municipal Auditorium. (Ticket purchase required).
Byron is located in the middle of Georgia on Interstate 75 exit 149.

About the Cowboys
Jim Dunham and Doc Stovall, cowboy historians and staff members of the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville Georgia, will present a unique cowboy presentation at the Byron Municipal Complex Auditorium. This event offers music, storytelling and poetry combined with an artist painting a work of art simultaneously. You will not want to miss this fun event that reveals story and insight about the life of the Old West. Ticket includes chance to win the painting.

  • Saddlebag Express is a family festival celebrating the chuck wagon cowboy heritage from our country's past.
Where is the Saddlebag Express and all the action?
  • The Saddlebag Express is held in Byron, Ga. just north of I-75 exit 149 Ga. route 49.
  • Western demonstrations, chuck wagon breakfast, exibits and vendors are located adjacent to GeorgiaBob's Barbeque.
  • Outdoor entertainment, family activities with more demonstrations, exibits, food and vendors are located in the large Peach Shops parking area.
  • Parking that accomadates cars and RV's is available in the Peach Shops
  • A number of motels are within walking distance
How much will it cost me?
  • General activities, demonstrations and entertainment are free.
  • Fri & Sat shows in municipal auditorium: $20 each night or $35 for both nights. Ticket includes one chance on the original cowboy painting by Jim Dunham.
